According to the fish and game, anything can be collected except for what is outlined in their gigantic 200mb acrobate file, as long as you have a saltwater fishing license


has anyone collected sand from florida or anything for use in their tank?


captiva has some clean sand along with some cool blennies i was thinking about starting a tank with them

anyone tried this?

may be legal, but id advise agains using wild sand.. its just my preferance.

may be a fun interesting project though.

If you want to try this I would consider making the tank a local only tank. If you end up mixing locally collected items with imported specimens you can have problems with diseases. If you keep everything in the tank locally collected I don't see any problem. Good luck.
