Hi All,
I have several Rhodactis Mushrooms in my tank that exhibit a response of some type in the afternoons after I feed them. They seem to have an emmision of some type where they cast off matter at quite an inittial velocity. Are they casting off excess zoo. algae ? Or is this a reproductive kind of thing. I observe this phenomenon daily but have never seen any of my other corals do same. Thanks....

The mushrooms emit almost bubble like mucus material at about a 45 degree up angle which travels about 4-5" in a second or so from the coral and dissapates. I am going to set up my video camera to try to capture it when I get back into town. It looks the same time after time. It is almost like a miniature bubble firework.
