I'm new to the fourm and somewhat new to keep SW tanks. I have a 10 gal nano setup as follows.

2 1/4 pounds of live rock
15 pounds of Lace Rock I'm trying to culture.
2 Percs (tank Raised)
5 astrea (sp) snails
3 Blue Leg Hermits
1 AC Mini With the surface skimmer attachment and filled with Bio-Max
1 AC mini with a foam pre-filter and again more Bio-Max
1 Zoo-Med Rotating Power Head, Turned way down
a Small white feather duster growing out of my rock
3 18 inch 15 watt bulbs, 2 Marine Glo, 1 Power Glo and a 40 watt 20 inch Reef-sun
I know lights not a problem but any other problems you might see would be helpful. I'm growing Coraline (sp) on all the live rock and it's starting to spread to some new rock as well.

I'm going to pick up some frags tommorow, A Red Mushroom and maybe
a Few Other random mushroom patchs, and a Fantastic Turban Coral thats been at the LFS where I work forever.

My problem is that no one here runs nanos and getting answers is a bit of a pain.
Do you think putting a single cleaner shrimp and a Green Clown Goby would be much of a problem for a few weeks while my 20 gal for the clowns is done it's cycle??

If so after the clowns move would it be any problem to run just a clown goby tank in a 10 maybe 3 total and a few shrimp?

The tank is cycled, I stock it with water from a tank at work, used their substrate AND ran my filter media in the sump for 6 months. All of my levels are spot on. I was just asking before I added it to make sure it's not going to cause any problems when I move my clowns to turn the 10 into a Goby only tank and what other gobys might live with the clowns. And why I'm on compatability Would a Bicolor blenny have enough room in a 10? Maybe 2 clown gobys and a bicolor??

I'm also used to looking after costom built setups at work, there are 2 of them at 450 gallons total water for each unit, each unit is made up of 2 60 gallons, 1 40 gallon, 12 10 gallons and a huge sump.

I would say you are probably pushing it a little to have 3 fish in a 10gal tank, not a compatability issue unless the clowns get breeding territorial, but your problem would be from over bioloading. You might get by with it for a little while doing water changes frequently, but if it were me I would just wait, as all the fish you list are not rare and can be got later.

by the way :welcome:

Thank You. I was only thinking it because the Percs are so small .. less then 3/4's of an inch.

As for Soft Corals and polyps what would you recommend as a slow very slow grower so I won't have to move it to the 20 as soon :D

IMO you could try mushrooms, zoos, most softies. See how they do, just start slow and work your way into it.

I added a small polyp from a friends tank ... I'm going to see how he does for a week or so and then try for the turban coral ... Hopfully I'll get pics. The turban is one tought coral, it's been killed twice by 2 different people and brought back to us at work, where it has somehow come back twice all on it's own :D
