Well I know the answer is the LFS store I buy my livestock from is using some lighting that differs from mine. The issue is when I make a purchase it is based on the representation of how it looks in the tank at the LFS. I am finding myself disappointed when I get them in my tank.
How do the rest of you deal with this??? I am using two Ushio 10,000K MH with two Uri blue actinics to suppliment. I bought a beautiful Crocea clam that was awesome at the LFS and when it got in my tank it lost a lot of the bright blue speckilng and a lot of the overall color........ man am
I bummed this seems to happen with everything I am buying. I almost called them and accused them of giving me a different clam than the one I had put on hold for me the difference was that great...
Is there a trick they use to make the coloration higlighted to make the sale???? If so is that not deception at the least. With so many combos of lighting how can anyone be sure of what youre livestock will look like unless you match the LFS lighting???
