Hello reefkeepers, newbie needs a little help here. I have seen these water jugs but I dont know where to buy them locally. I went to target, wal-mart, homedepot, and even my LFS. Can you please advise? I am in the bay area, california.

thanks!

I would just go to a water store (25 cent per gal places) and get one of those greenish water bottle...

If you want the exact one, you can try LFS or online with usplastic.com or similar. Even laboratory supply store carries it.

That is a bolltle the pool supply stores transport clorine in. doesn't spill, heavy plastic, but I'm not sure about any harmful chemical off gassing. If new it may be ok for your fishes

Can I ask why do you want that exact one? If you just need water jugs, the easiest way is to go to Wallyworld or someplace else and buy spring or RO water in a 5 gallon container and reuse it. That way you know there are no leaching or contaminent issues...

thanks for all the great response ... i wanted the exact one because i wanted to do a gravity fed top-off with it using a kent float valve. With this kind of water container, I can see the current water level on my top off easily and can refill readily  . I need a square-ish container and the bluish-greenish 5-gallon water bottle at wallyworld looks tacky in my living room and would be too big for the shelf I am planning to put it in. I already purchased one of those 7-gallon square-ish water container made for camping at wallyword but it is blue and you cant see the water level.

i will try a pool supply and see if they sell it new. i saw this pic on a website that sells emergency supplies but it will cost too much to purchase it online because of the s/h.

if anyone else knows where to get one, please let me know. thanks!

by the way, is anyone from the bay area? are you guys going to the Coral Farmer's Market in Newark in June? If you are, see you there!

Over priced. Go to wal mart in the out doors section and buy a blue "gas" can. The blue ones are for water. About 5 bux.

Farm supply places have water and gas cans that are plastic and about 6gal each. Also Walmart stores that sell Culligan water should have the jugs like you show only clear.

I have seen similar clear jugs like that at an LFS down here in LA. You may want to call around to other LFS's in the bay and see if you can find them.

thanks for the responses! i truly appreciate them. i think i will just purchase on the net and it will cost me around $8/each if I get three of them (one for top-off and two to have RO water on hand all the time).
