Wow that looks great andy! I love the whole look of that room with the matching bar (pub  ) and table and everything. The view from your house is amazing, is the ocean always that calm or was this just a good day? I think I'm with GratefulDiver on this one. Time to look for a job in a nicer location. Do you scuba dive at all or just free dive? How is the diving in S. Africa? I know there is great shark diving there but haven't heard about reefs or anything.

Hi Meloco

The ocean here is not always as calm or as clean as in the pics. They were taken at low spring tide so the inshore reefs were very exposed and Sunday was very calm and pretty clean. I dont really mind though, it is very relaxing to watch it, even on rough days! Thanks for the comments about the decor, I am not very good at that sort of thing and this has all worked out pretty well considering that!

I dont scuba much anymore, spend most of my time spearfishing, have my own 6m semi rigid inflateable with 2 50 HP yamahas on it and spear pretty seriously. There is some awesome diving here in SA, but conditions are not as stable as the traditional areas like the Red Sea, Barrier Reef, Fiji, Mauritious etc. On its day there is some of the best diving in the world here. Plus we have Mocambique next door, with some of the finest untouched coral reefs in the world (25 years of brutal civil war will tend to allow reefs some protection!!)- conditions there are much more predictable. Plenty of shark diving here, Great whites in the colder waters around Cape Town and lots of Tigers and Zambezis (Bull sharks) around here, especially at my favourite spot, Aliwal shoal. Aliwal is fast becoming the international shark diving destination of choice for apex predators!

Let me know if anyone wants more details, I am happy to be a tourist ambassador for this place but we'd better do it in a non-specific forum.....
