Coralline algae growth varies. In some tanks it will cover all rocks and glass, in some it is a lot more sparse. If your tank is cycling the coralline probably isn't growing very quickly. When your tank is established it will grow more quickly. One thing you could check is your calcium and alkalinity and make sure they are at proper levels. In this hobby you need to learn to be patient, and over time you will get great growth from your live rock.

Speaking of patience... if you are referring to your thread titled I've got an eel, you posted that only a few hours before this one. This is a discussion board, not a chatroom or instant messenger. You cannot expect immediate responses. On top of that, the post was in the middle of the work day and most members here either work or go to school and can't respond in the middle of the day. The last thing is when you have a thread titled "I've got an eel" that doesnt make people think you have a question and need help. If you had called it "can someone help me ID this eel?" I bet you would have more luck. From your description I don't know what kind of eel that is. If you can get a picture of it it would help. Welcome to this forum, and I hope this helps you get more of the information you need.

How are you calcium and alk levels? Coraline requires these to grow. Do you have any patches of coraline in your tank. If not you may need to seed your tank.

Please have some patience with the fourm. Some days are quicker than others. Also, descriptive titles can help.

Hope you enjoy it here.

Its also getting closer to summer and more people are out doing other things instead of sitting in front of a computer.

Are you a fairly new reefkeeper BlueLegs? - If so, theres some great books out now to help you get started....

I've had my Mini-Reef for about 3 perhaps 4 months - Coraline algea has recently started to grow (last 4 or 5 weeks) - it started on the side glass but has now spread to some equipment, and it's pretty hard to get off glass with a srubber.

Just wait - keep doing water changes and keep an eye on the water chemistry and it will grow.... and grow..... and grow.

I have found that I have had coraline troubles in the past. Now that I have my levels stable Alk-11 DKH CA-350 the coraline is starting to spread very fast..
