I changed the skimmer in my old tank because my old skimmer was developing a leak in it (repairable, but not easily).
The instructions on the new skimmer said to wait 3 days to a week as a "break-in period". It's been two weeks today and the skimmer isn't producing foam yet. I would like to think that this is due to my "pristine" water, but I'm guessing that is not the case. Should I take the skimmer back, or does it sometimes take longer than a week to start producing?
There is a light foam at the surface right above the level where the water runs off back into the tank, but the top of the collection cup is a good 5" above that.
Much thanks in advance,
Ben
