Hi Guys

My first post and hope some can help me. I just started my S/W tank(not my first. My previous tanks was all fish only tanks, so it was alot easier than starting with a reef tank......though I knew something, but it look like another 10 years of research and I can start.

I have an imported show tank, with no sump. Tank is running with live rock and some fish only. I have a few questions

I dont want to mess up the tank by adding a sump I would like to know how I can mantain my calcium levels without a calcium reactor. I have 3 T5 40W coral bulbs, would this be enough for a 1.2m x 0.5m x 0.5m.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

You may want to consider a hang on the top overflow.

Many people do without CaRxtor with two part calcium/alk. additives.

Depends on what you want to keep. Some need more light that that, but most low light critter should be fine.

Most two part are the same (calcium chloride and sodium carbonate). If you trust the label, go for the one that give you highest concentration of calcium per dollar (or whatever currency you have other here).

There are a few HOB overflows. For example, the CPR overflow. Take a look and see if it will work for you. It is not as reliable as drilled tank, but if you are careful, it works well in most cases.
