hey just wondernig if you go the powder blue? I hear that they may be a little fussy at first and if you get them to eat and they settle in and are comfortable that you could have them for years. I would love to try one but not in the price range for me right now. plus i have enuogh tangs at the moment, I just got a clown tang, he is nuts.

also i am going to post abuot this fish if you have any advice.

good luck hope you get a good one.

I got him yesterday. I took a long time acclimating him. He and my sailfin fought for a few hours. They did not nip at eachother, but backed up tail first. They eventually stopped and this morning they can actually swim past each other head first. I have not tried to feed yet, so that will be the next hurdle to get over. I will post more info when I get it. Oh yeah about the price I had to find one bigger than my sailfin(which is already a good size) so he cost me about $68. I'll let you know.

dnorton - Keep us updated about that PBT. I saw one the other day at the LFS and I thought it was an beautiful fish. I hope everything works out with it! After seeing it at the LFS, I'm current;y re-thinking about which fish to get for my tank.

I know it has only been a couple of days, but he is eating now. He will not come up and eat with everyone else though. I put in some caulepra and he eats that. Plus he is grazing on the rocks all the time. So far so good, but it is really early.

I have 4 cleaner shrimp, and a 18 watt UV. That may or may not be helping me. That is a whole nother thread(did I say nother).

Is a PBT comparible to a Naso? I tried to keep a Naso and I was unsuccessful. I think I jump the gun getting him though. Too early.

PBT (both blue and brown varieties) tend to be harder to keep as they are more ich prone than many others. Both have also been caught using cyanide at a high rate, hopefully this is not occurring as badly as before though. Treat em like gold, and they can live a long time!

So far so good. He really seems to like caleupra. He wont come up to the water area and eat any flake with the others. I figure he is still adjusting. If his main diet is caluepra and what he pics at all day, is that ok??

Should be fine for now. Get it some Nori from the local Asian food market. Make sure it is unseasoned. I usually just use my magnetic cleaner and pinch it between the inner portion and the glass. I also have seen the tangs I have kept in the past take meaty foods when I would feed the rest of the tank so I would suggest trying some mysis shrinp. You should be able to get those frozen from most any halfway decient LFS.
