will emerald crabs eat green star polyp?

i have a nice green star polyp in my tank for about 3 weeks and doing great. until this morning, when i noticed a huge gash out of it.
the possible culprits are:
emerald green crabs, some about the diameter of a golfball
coral banded shrimp
bristle worms?
coral beauty..which i saw nip at a coral just this morning, but highly doubtful he ate that huge amount in one night.
some other unseen predator?

My vote is for the coral beauty. That's what my pigmy was doing. Emerald crabs, and CBS are also capable esp. if hungry. Keep them well fed.

i recently took out my emeralds because i viewed them picking at my zoos,

i had a coral beauty that never bothered anything.

but every animal is different and I guess you have to catch the culpret in the act

emerald crab, IME, will eat anythiing. Even it they don't eat it, they like to tear thing up just to sample it.

Are you sure that its just not irritated right there? My GSP goes through phases where some parts just dont open up for days at a time.

My emerald has never touched my GSP. Mine might just be unusual though. He's still small though.

it's not irritated..there is actually a chunk missing. the white part used to be all pink.
