MH Lighting Question 150 watt 10,000k bulbs

Hey all, this may be a stupid question, but I was wondering when it's time to replace my MH bulbs, my unit holds currently the 150watt 10,000k double ended HQI bulb.

Would it be okay to replace them with two 14,000k 150watt bulbs (bluer color tem) or 20,000k 150 watt bulbs (have no idea color temp on this one).

Same watt, different color tempurature. I was thinking since the ballasts are 150 watt the color temp wouldn't matter. Anyone?

yes you can. as long as it is 150 watts. ballast 150/bulb 150 is ok.

Agreed on the color temp thing - you'll be fine running the bluer lamp in your setup.

As for lamp life, it will vary depending on which lamp, ballast, daily run time, etc. but IME most 10K DEs are generally good for at least a year...
