Hello all,
I am in the planning stages of adding some SPS corals to my 125 G Reef tank as I have updated the lighting to (3) 250W MH and (4) 55W Actinic PC. I have a Pavona Coral that is thriving, and other LPS, and mushrooms growing in the tank. At present, I do not add any coral targeted food. If I add a couple of Acroporas, will I have to add anything for their consumption ? Thanks...

Thanks for the reply. Kind of what I thought but it is always reassuring to get more opinions....

Never kept many SPS myself, but the one thing that seems to be key with those is to keep a tight rein on Alk/Ca and keep levels elevated. Do you currently drip Kalk or use a reactor?

Most acros seem to get adequate nutrition from light, consumption of bacteria, detritus, uneaten fish food, fish poo, etc. so that no direct feeding is really required.

Some folks claim to get better growth rates or colors in certain species when target feeding, but it seems there are always just as many (or more) folks getting similar results without the target feeding...
