Hi,

My new 40 gal tank that I will start to set-up in a month will be illuminated by a 2x150 (14000K) HQI lighting.

I hear if you have metal halide lighting anything can go in there (LFS, SPS, etc.), however, I would still like to ask what CAN'T I put in my tank, or what is NOT suggested for this type of lighting.

I’m looking just focus on an RTBA and a pair of clowns for this setup for now

Your thoughts and insights are appreciated

Not necessarily true. If your tank is 24" deep, then 150s arent going to be quite strong enough to keep SPS, clams and anenomes healthy and thriving near the bottom. . You can keep the SPS and clams near the top and softies on the bottom if thats the case. The anenome is another story. If your tank is 18" deep you should be ok. If you havent bought your lights yet, you may want to consider getting 250s as ChrisRD suggested and consider it as planning for the future when you get a bigger tank. You can always hang them higher above the water in the meen time. What are the dimensions on your 40?
