My tank (corals in the futue) has been up and running for about a month now. The PH is at 8.0 and has been at 8.0 since the begining. Once source I read said that this is too low (8.2 min) and another said stability is all that really matters?

Any clarification on the issue would be helpful. If it's the case that I need to raise my PH, what products do you recommend? The test kit advertised their own product (of course) so it wasn't really that much of a help.

IMO 8.0 is a bit low but nothing to worry about. If you have a spare air pump & stone around, try aerating a sample of your water for an hour or so and see if the pH rises. If so, take steps to increase gas exchange in your system (if you do a search you should find plenty of discussion on pH problems and gas exchange.).

Keep in mind ph swings depending on when you test. It will be low when lights first come on and gradually increase as the day goes on. I didn't know this and was running test first thing in the morning so I was freaking out about the ph being low. Then I was told to test later after lights were on a while and ph was 8.2.
