I had good luck with a CPR bakpak on my 30. They make a double bakpak that may work for you. The Aqua C remora is definately the most talked about in this forum.
I have used an Aqua C remora for about 2 1/2 years now and I would not recomend it to any one. I have had problems keeping the pump attached to the inlet, the plastic hose clamps are not strong enough to keep the pump attached to the hose. I get the collection cup height adjusted so I get a good skimate, then after running fine for 4 days to a week the skimmer will go nuts and start over skimming and filling the collection cup in a matter of minutes. My collection cupo has the optional fitting for attaching a hose to a larger container (in my case a gallon milk jug), so now it overfills the jug and runs into my stand and onto the carpet. This is happened over a dozen times. Today it decided to go nuts (after running fine for over a week), I happened to be sleeping at the time ( I work nights, and sleep days) and by the time I woke up and noticed what was happening it had drained about half the tank (50 gallon tank). So now it ruined the carpet and walls around the tank. It happens to be about 35 degrees F with about 80+% humidity today so trying to dry the carpet is fun.
If you decide to get this skimmer do not get the optional drain fitting in the collction cup. I personally would not buy or recomend this skimmer. I'm going to be replacing mine very soon.
That's just my opnion and experience so take it for what it is.
I'm using the remora. I made my own surface preskimmer box. I think it rocks. I've not had the problems jmurri has. I have heard something similar about their larger skimmers. In that case, I would simply stop up the "optional fitting" and when the skimmer cup fills it will drain back into the body of the skimmer and into the tank. No harm no foul.
I have used seaclones. Absolute crap. Even modded they are crap. Which is a shame because I'm in love with their manufacturer.
You can get a Remora Pro w/ mag 3 (better than Rio) and the skimmer box for around $270. I swear on my grandmother's grave that if that is too much for you right now then you're better off not buying any kind of protein skimmer until you can afford a good one like this. Instead do religious weekly water changes, minimal feeding, and for god's sake don't add anything else to your tank. Save - save - save until you can get a good skimmer. No, it's not the end all and be all, but it's a lot like the extra brake pedal they have in the driver's ed car.
I had a seaclone 100 on my 46 gal, and was almost useless. I have been using a Euro Reef rs080 for a week now and what a difference, price wise it wasnt to bad, you can get them anywhere from 230-260$. Good luck
