I've noticed alot of people using the ASM G3 skimmer, Is the height on the G3 23.5" or 25" as listed from ASM. I only have 25.5" clearance under my tank and could get away with the 23.5" but not a 25" tall unit. Also my tank(75G) volume is only going to be in the 120g range including sump and refugium so would a G2 be more appropriate for this size tank and does the G2 skim well.

I have not used them, but here they work well. What is the G2 rated for. I like to over size my skimmer, but if the G2 is rated for 120 gallons you should be fine with it.

AHA! Asm must have changed the dimensions or listed it wrong from the start.
From their site:

ASM G3

Width: 6.5"
Height: 23.5"
Footprint: 9.5" X 12"
Please note: The footprint and
height have been updated!

Included Pump: Sedra 5000
ASM Tank Rating: 250 gallons
Our Tank Rating: 180 gallons

Thanks for the help though I caught it when I went to check the G2!

The updated height is 23.5". I also have a 75G and with the sump (29G) I figure my total volume is about 80-85G and I went with the G3 instead of the G2. Why? Because it was only $20 extra!

I'm not in a rush I have an antique I can use if I get everything else in. I'll by cycling just rock for a good month or so. And I could grab one off of ebay if they are out long term :|
