Any suggestions on what type of paint to paint the back of my glass tank. Going with black more than likely.

Flat spray paint (or gloss, it does not really matter :D ), just make sure you mask the sides of your tank well, or there will be some scraping in your future!

I just use LATEX flat paint on the back (outside of course). Use a brush IMO.

It will take a few coats because the glass is slick, but you'll get there.

Will it cause any problems to the fish if you paint the back glass on an established tank. Assuming i dont drip paint in the tank? I am referring to the smell and stuff. Thanks. I made a mistake of having a stupid background and it is killing me. It will be a fun job to paint being i only have about 5'' between the tank and the wall..

I bet a regular roller on a stick would fit back there dnorton. I bet green would make the tank look dirty or algae ridden. Black or Blue for me and there are always scrapers!

Thanks guys Latex it is

Just make sure the room's well ventilated. Use a brush instead of spray to reduce fumes. I would go with either black or a royal blue!

I wouldnt even bother. Begin your lesson in patience by letting it get covered in coraline algae and other natural colorful stuff.

good luck with that mate!

my GF is a keen fishkeeper, she wants us to set up tank together, i said how about a 3000 litre lionfish tank, and got the OK for it! :D

as for painting, whats behind the tank at the moment, i kinda like the way i got it, i have the tank backed onto the wall, so the paint on the wall is the background, it this purple colour, so it looks kinda cool
