Hey guys,

I am still having a big problem with red hair algae. I have reduced my photo period to 9 hours, and lightened up on feeding. This crap is still growing like mad. My question is how much should I feed; 1- yellow tang (medium), 1 juvi- blue hippo tang, 1- juvi-flame angel, 1 juvi- domino damsel, 2 juvi- occillariuos clown fish. Last week I did a moderate water change of 15 gal. I talked to my dude at LFS and he said that this tank is still going trough the new cycle. It is approx. 2 months in running. Should I just let it go and let the water changes and leave the photo period the same (9 hours). OH! I almost forgot to mention what I am feeding them right now- it is Spectrum THERA+A. I know that I need to vary their diet but this is what they have always been feed. I have tried some cubed food suppliments and they just will not touch it. If anyone has some good recipies for fish foods for picky fish I would greatly appreciate a few.

Thank you,
J.c.

my tangs love to pick at a clip with seaweed sheets in it. i give them that and this stuff called "formula b". supposed to be full spectrum. it's got pieces of fish, and plants in it. they seem to enjoy it. i also give them flake food. i had a giant container of freshwater "tetramin tropical crisps"
and i'm not letting it go to waste. they can't get enough of it...lol
also when i feed my anemone, i chop up some silversides real fine, and they all love it. my fish are pigs.

silversides are little fishies. you can buy them in frozen packs. i guess they are kinda like natures saltwater minnows. just about everything eats them.

just find things they like buy small amounts and if they like it buy in bulk. try things out a little, i actually only have two foodsw i use right now, bloodworms and flakes, oh yeah and "green stuff" oh yeah and seaweed selects. but that is about it

go cook some fish food!!!!

I will try a lot of things but this fear factor special I will not! I can honestly say that this is a unique client. I have made sushi for my clients but not this way:). So i guess this is a trial and error or R&D for my little buddies.
