Please, would someone tell me about failures and successes in keeping particular species of blue spnges? I'm not finding a lot of info. Blue sponges seem to be not only various species, but various genera. I have not yet been able to learn what are the bluest or what the most easily maintained species.
If get algae build up on your sponge, it will start to die. You have blow it off with a powerhead, I would say everyday. If you don't take it out once it starts to die, it will foul your tank. The sponge eats phytoplankton, such as DT's.
If it touches air at any time, kiss it goodbye. They are finiky little suckers.
