Yesterday, I snagged my very first Rose BTA off the LFS. It was for $60 and thought it was a real bargain. it is healthy and about 5" when fully open. Very happy with the purchase.

Anyway, I placed him on the lower, central portion of the tank. It attached right away to the rocks. The bad part is that the BTA started to creep into the crevice of the rocks and basically hid itself. Now, its completely in the shade. Im not sure If I should pull him out of there or just wait until he comes out on his own. Im not sure what to do. Help!

You might try target feeding him and he may come out on his own. I have moved mine before. Wear rubber gloves. They do sting a little.

Mine did this when I first got it.

I put it right where I wanted it, it seemed happy as could be, and in the morning, *poof* it was gone!

I looked all over for it and finally found it's foot by looking under the bottom glass of the tank, it was way deep in the rockwork. Slowly it expanded over the course of about 4 days and moved up so it was exposed. I think they just take time to get used to the new digs.

I agree if you can give it a little food back where it is that is a good idea, but if you can't reach it, just wait.

thanks for the reply.

I got home yesterday and it was out already. though the BTA's base is mounted deep inside the crevice. I checked again this morning and it was out of sight in the crevice again (lights were off). Hopefully it will come out when the light turns on at noon.
