I transfered two Damsil fish from one tank to another and there were two damsil fish in there to begin with.

Two of the fish died one that was already established in the tank and one of the ones I transfered.

The third fish I transfered looks sick?

I checked the Salinity, temp, Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph

Salinity 1.025
ph at 8.4
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 10
Ammonia 0
Temp 78 Degrees

What coulf I have done wrong?

This is no expert opinion. But I know there is a pecking order to Damsel groups. Maybe the mean one took out his anger on his friends when he found himself with 3 roomates instead of the 1 he was used to.

The only other thing I did not do was to acclumate the fish to the other tank.

But the levels were so close I did not think it would be a problem.

And I don't understand if acculmation was the problem then why did one of the established fish die?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I am new to this hobby.

Thanks

Well I suppose it could have been the fact that you just threw them in the new tank without acclimating them. But since one of the "old" ones died, I am sticking to my opinion that one of them was mean and killed 2/beat up the remaining one.

Sounds like territoriality/agression, but what else is in the tank you transferred to?
