When I do water changes I aerate my Ro/di water for 24 hours, then add my salt and aerate another 24 hours prior to doing a change. My PH always test around 8.2 -8.3 before going in the tank. One other thing to note is I use a powerhead in the container of the mixed up water as well. Hope this helps.

Just a small test here...

If you think your PH is out of wack, try this first... Take a jar of your tank water, test the PH. Put an airstone in that jar of water for a few hours, and take the PH test again. If your PH rose, you don't have a PH problem - you have an airation problem in your tank!
