ok.. we ended up with a spiny urchin late last night (he was a freebie.. so we can't complain too much...)
... we don't want to put him in with our live rock since he will eat the coral that's starting to grow on it... we have two choices.. either set up a tank for just him (and maybe a fish or two later on)... or take him to the LFS and see if they will trade him for a couple of snails .. or something...
we are leaning towards keeping him.. (haven't decided completely yet).. the question is this...
1) would you keep him.. or trade him in?
2) if we keep him.. should we set up a 10 gallon, 20 long, or a 29 gallon tank?
Right now he is cooling his spines in a plastic tote.. and seems somewhat content.. but that can not be a permanent home for him...
What is compatable with a spiny urchin? Or maybe the better question to ask is.. if YOU were setting up a tank for him.. what would you plan to put in it with him?
Thanks!
