powerheads?

ok...ive had it with my maxi jet 1200 powerheads in my 55 gal tank. they suck. so i was wondering what type of new powerheads i should buy? anybody have any favorites out there?

i have generic aquaclear 50 powerheads in my 75. they were 23.95 a piece and i have no complaints.

If you're looking for the best.. you want a TUNZE Stream.

Whats wrong with the Maxijets - they are usually very reliable and just need cleaning once in a while.

I have maxijets too. Never had a problem. Cleaning is essential though.

Same here. I have two that are about 8 years old and still going strong. I would reccomend MJ's.

Definitely don't give up your MJs for Aquaclears. They don't even compare and are incredibly bulky.

i have 2 aquaclear 70 on my 55 and they work well. i have never had a maxi jet so i can't compare. imo the aquaclears are awesome.

honestly, i don't understand the difference. if you need ...say...250 gph...and you buy ANY manufacturers 250 gph powerhead, shouldn't you be satisfied? i'll buy those maxijet 1200's off of ya if you hate them so much.

btw...bulky?..how small do you need them? 8O
