Return Pump Question

my fuge has a mag drive return pump on it.
on the pump it has a filtration sponge. should i take that off?..after all, i do want little teentsy weentsy creatures sucked up and brought into the display tank, don't i?
or will they be small enough to pass through the sponge?

Take it off, they won't get through with the sponge there. :wink:

It will also catch detritous and become a nitrate factory unless you clean it regularly. I would remove it.

yeah, i have been removing it and cleaning it regularly. i just took it off for good. i was afraid to clog the pump with loose macros or something.

Take the sponce off, but make sure you have the macro so it will not get sucked up in the pump.
