ok I have like 150 pounds of live rock in my tank and numerous caves and crevices and valleys. I have a camel back shrimp that pulled apart a linkia star in a day (I caught him in the act!) Anyhow, he doesn't really bother anything in my tank now but i am afraid to do certain things because of him and I just want him out.
I tried my trusty old net and this thing is like lightning and then he just goes into the rocks, I can't break down this tank for one small camel back right??? I saw the post earlier about how to catch a fish and was wondering if this would work with a camel back shrimp?
the soda bottle trick

anybody catch one before?

Well....Ill tell you how my shrimp dissapeared.....go buy a grouper....lol but seriously you may be able to set up some ghetto trap, but it may come down to moving rock around

lol, that will do it, seriously i am not moving the rock for right now, it's a 125 with like 150 pounds of LV, too much for 1 teeny shrimp.

i'll figure something out, thanks though!!!!

No, the soda bottle trick won't work on a shrimp, sorry. But I would hesitate to blame the shrimp for killing the linka. IME and IMO they only usually bother dead or dying organisms, yanking off tissue where they can. When linkas die (they have lousy survival rates as a rule) they loose legs and basically fall to pieces.

I think that may be the case actually, it never looked good from the get go but i thought it was alive and well, it kinda did disintegrate in a way and I saw the shrimp eating off of him, maybe you could be right here, thanks!!!!!!

Cleaner shrimp do just that, they fed not only parasites but dead tissue. Mine were so tame and used to being hand fed they would try always to get on my hands when I put them in the tank and "clean" me. One got a hold of a rough cuticle on my hand and refused to let go of it until he ripped it off

Sorry bad habit of using a catch-all phrase, you're right, but the principle is the same, they are more scavenger than cold blood killer ;)
