I don't have an alk test kit, but i do put in the reccomended doses on it when i do water changes and occasionally when I feel it is needed, but i will get a test kit to be sure

Calcium is at 520 on my test kit, someone else tested it and said it was lower than that , but i would say close enough to 500

lighting is 4X96 power compacts (white and blue actinics) on a 125 gallon

tell me what to I should also be doing? I am going to get a reef masters test kit very very soon, and I will start making things perfect. I am seriously in my learning stages about 9 months in now. Any advice is appreciated!!! thanks man

hey...i got the tang out of the tank last night...it was awesome...one scoop and he came right out!
the better news is, he lived through the night in the hospital tank!
i mean..it has the same water parameters and all, but still...ya always wonder....
btw..my "refugium setup training" lessons are about $300.00 an hour :lol:
so..i'm alittle ahead of you.......

I have purple coraline algae on all of my power heads. My tank has only been running for 3 months. It was loaded! I switched to a 90 gallon mega flow.

Shavo - I would not dose anything until you know if the tank needs or not.

Usually when CA is over 500 the Alk has dropped out. Get those kits and test.
