No, they need meaty foods, best to target feed enriched brine. They are quite agressive feeders, and chemically nasty to other corals as well. Any food they come into contact with sticks to the surface and gets absorbed. IME (learned the hard way), it will badly burn any other coral it comes into contact with.

ok..cool.it's by itself anyway. wow..awesome! i'm excited. i'll load him up with tasty treats then!

Use a small syringe and gently blow the food by it. You will be AMAZED at what those guys can eat. Major problem is that they eat slow, and the cleaners tend to figure that out. One of my absolute fav coral species.

Oops. I've had mine for nearly a year and have never target fed it anything. Yet, it still grows. Actually I dont think I would want to feed it as its growth rate is the same as most others in my tank. It is apretty cool "hairy" coral. Jumpincactus' wife named mine "Oscar the Grouch" because of its color and shaggyness. :)

Hydno does well in good lighting. There is no need to target feed it. Trust me, it is so aggressive that it can grab any coral nearby, so you can just put a $200 frag 6 inch away as see how they can grabble it up with the sweepers!

Again, no particular feeding involved, just good light, and keep it at a good distance from coral that can get stung.

Many corals show a response to direct feedings but thrive/grow just fine without them. There are many other sources of nutrition in the system including light, detritus, bacteria, uneaten fish food, fish wastes, etc...
