POLL: How long do you run your protein skimmer

i have never unpluged mine since i got it 6months. never really seen a reason to

im still new at this 1 1/2 years ive had skimmer 6 months and never shut it off except during weekly water cange and than right back on

another for 24/7 for all the reasons given here. I have never seen anyone say its possible to 'overskim' (assuming you are doing it right)....or is it?

All the time for the reasons mentioned plus I want it running to skim out nasties in case I am not home and there is some kind of biological event.

enough with the poll already!!! lol, i upped my schedule to 14 hours from whenever i decided to run it for an hour or 2 after I got home. Seriously I can't say I notice much difference but I see there are some good reasons for 24/7. thanks RDO peeps

i run mine 24/7 too.

a skimmer cleans water right? so why would I turn off the water cleaner????
