I was pulling out some of my pumping xenia my 30 gal is over run with them I was also doing a water change when I was trying to get my wet and dry filter going I sucked on the tube and got a mouth full taste like **** the same smell when I was pulling them out is now in my mouth are they poison's should I set some time aside to stay by the bowl :(

Almost all corals are toxic but also remember there are plenty of strange bacteria in your tank and water. These alone can give you a bad intestinal experience. If need be stay close to the bowl.

I spit it out then hit the mouthwash hard never went down the pie hole so Im thinking I should be fine :oops: its been a hour now

any more feed back would be good.

To my experience, no, xenia are not toxic. They are however one of the worst smelling things on the planet.

So you did not learn your lesson when you try to siphon gasoline off the old pickup when you were 16 yrs old?

Try *not* to use your mouth to start siphon, and yes, you will have plenty of opportunities in the future :D

Actually Xenia produce a substance called Diturpines which is toxic, the Nudibranches that feed on the coral use this as a defense mechanism.

I agree with shavo That is funny ****. Just go pray to the toilet bowl god for a few you will be alright. just joking!! Man I hope that that ever happens to me. Oh! thats right I use a pump to do my water changes.
