Ok...I am not 100% new to aquariums, but I am new to sump since my last tank was a 100 gallon Berlin set-up.
I purchased a 92 corner and it is honestly a little noisier than I remember when it was setup at his house. The pumps seem loud, the inflow into the bio ball chamber seems loud, and the overflow seems loud.

The overflow looks like an older design...since the stand pipe goes straight-up...then has a pre-filter sponge and then a plastic bobber/floater. I have tried making the u-shaped overflow...but I don't think I was getting the right air/water mix since it would make girgling noise from time to time and the level in overflow would go up and down.

Please...any thoughts to make this thing quiter?

As far as the stand pipe goes I'd use the durso standpipe design. I have it on my tank and it works great. Yeah, it took me a while to get the correct hole size in the durso for it to work right. But then again, I also only used 1" pvc for mine instead of 1.5".

I have the same problem! I have AGA 90 the LFS to me that the tank is rated at 950 gph so I ran a Danner supreme mag 9.5. I talked to AGA today (because I am tired of all of the noise) and they told me that the tank is actually rated for 600 gph. Also my line that goes to the sump has a little swoop and a pinch in it and the lady that I had talked to said that that would also make it loud too.
