If you work all day long then you may want to start them very late in the morning so that when you get home you can enjoy it longer in the evening. I see that you do not have corals yet either right?

My lights are on timers (you can buy at walmart home depot), They come on around 9am(my first set) my 2nd set comes on around 10 am. The first set goes off around 9pm, and the 2nd goes off around 8pm. For me I have had great coral growth so far. I only have VHO lighting, but I am very pleased. Hope this is somewhat helpful

Thanks for info. I did forget to mention I have a small group of mushrooms and star polyps. I assume the first set of lights are the actinics??? :)

Yes. Sorry. From previous threads, I believe most guys run their lights from 10 - 14 hours. From there just adjust it around your schedule so you can enjoy it. Definitely pick up some timers if you have not already.

Definately time it so that you can enjoy your tank :) My lights go off at 445 pm, 45 mins after I get home from work, then I let them run to 10 pm. Experiencing good growth in my tank too.
