R.O. unit shopping

i am finally considering purchasing a water filtration device, and i need some advice on what's best, within reason (between 100-150USD).
i was thinking about a purchase from buckeye field supply, and i am not entirely sure what i need.
i was thinking of the bfs 155, or the 160.
help me out peeps :?

I bought mine off of Ebay, believe it or not. I had my plumber put it together for me and it's great.

I bought this one. Very easy to setup. My in TDS is 130 - out is 0. I've been using it since july and have changed nothing. For $95.00 you can't beat the price.

I bought mine from the same place on ebay - FilterDirect. They guy is really good, answers emails, and they have a phone number. I've had mine for a year now and it has been working great.

I bought a TDS meter from him as well.

TDS before 520 (water here in Santa Barbara is total krap).
TDS after RO 5
TDS after 1 DI - 0.

He also sells refills for all parts.

I got mine from airwaterice.com. Pair $200 for a 5 stage, with a TDS meter, pressure gauge, auto-shutoff and a few other things I can not recall.

I don't recall...it was a few years ago, good price though, and it's still working great.

I have never calibrated my TDS and dont know if the 2 is just inaccuracy. I have never had any algea problems. I quit worrying qbout the 2 long ago.

Yeow. The size of many of the fittings are universal. The configurations aren't, nor are the filters that go in the housings. Far from it.

If you go the ebay route best educate yourself first so you know what it is you're buying.
