Water change question

I was doing a water change for the first time in two months I think I ran into a problem the first 1/2 gal I poured into the sump and a big puff of cloudy water went
into the tank I cant see anything now, the sump has not been cleaned in a long time will this hurt my reef I still have four gal of fresh salt water to put in very slowly.

I would say let it settle and skim it out. If it just got stirred up it was there anyhow so you shouldn't be in any worse shape than you were before the water change.

Just my opinion.

Mine does that. It's just the sediment that gets built up at the bottom. You should try to vaccuum it out every so often but it won't hurt anything.

I wouldnt worry. Sometimes when I storm my tank my corals get mad. The little critters the project their filamentous strings sure get happy. It is basicly the same thing.

Now for the scolding... Bad, Bad, Bad.. Your supposed to clean your sump every once in a while. :P
