Quick question or two... I have my actinics come on around 630am and then my main tank lights come on at 700am. I then feed my fish at about 705 and again when i come home from school at about 330pm. I have a 30 gallon tank with 3 damsels, 1 sailfin tang, 1 small maroon clown, and a firefish. Am i feeding them too much or often? Is it shocking them by feeding them so early?

what time you feed will not effect the fish. too much yes, the more you feed the more waste and the more work to bring parameters back to normal. also it will help the fish to grow. once a day or every other day will be good for them

alright so if i just feed them when i get home from school will that be enough? o and do you think my 30 is big enough for a sailfin because my LFS said it was but other sites say you need a 75 or larger?

It will out grow the tank, enjoy the fish for now . save your money and get a 75 or 90 g tank and move him in. OH the maroone gold will out grow it too
and it dosent matter when you feed, if you like the mornings feed in the mornings

Unfortunately you can't count on most LFSs to give good information and you need to research your livestock purchases before you buy. A 30 gallon tank is definitely too small for a Sailfin Tang. They can get to be over a foot long and are active swimmers. This fish really shouldn't be put in anything less than a 6' tank for the long term.
