Salt buildup on Metal halides

What is the best way to go about in removing the salt buildup that has accumulated on the metal halide bulbs? Thanks for the help

i wait till they are off, and cool, and wipe them with a wet paper towel.

In addition to what X said if you have some calcuim build up add a little viniger to the paper towel. I have to do that to my DE glass covers.

thanks for the advise...the weekends coming up so ill be able to pull them off a couple of hours before there scheduled to come on and clean them...it does look like theres some calcium build up so ill take you up on that advise on the vinigar...thanks again

Be sure to clean them off with some freshwater after you do the vinegar thing, unless you like the smell of hot vinegar throughout the house the first time you fire them back up :lol:
