How do I plumb a non-drilled 72 gal tank to a sump?

Hi,
Newbie here...Do I use PVC, hoses? How do I plumb back into the tank? Where do the pumps go and how do I prevent a flood in case of power loss? I want build a sump...do I use a small aquarium or build out of acrylic? A lot of questions I know but I appreciate any help you can give me. :roll: :?:

You can use either pvc or hoses. Here is a diagram. I couldn't find this one diagram that helped me learn this stuff, but I can't find it.

There are many different ways to build a sump and to plumb it. Try doing a search here. That's how I figured it out and by asking folks here. good luck
