I have a question as far as compatibility as well as stocking issues. So the Antennata Lionfish and Snowflake eel will eventually outgrow my current tank, so I'm planning on a FOWLR for them. I'm considering anywhere from 90-130 gallon tank. With the bioload from these predators I'm thinking I can add one more?

For the 3rd I'd consider a trigger or harlequin tusk. Would the three of these be fine in a tank of around 100 gallons? Is it possible to have a couple of tangs as well? I'll have the proper skimmer to handle heavy load for them, but wondering if they would feel cramped.

help is much appreciated, thanks

You should be able to comfortable add one to two more predatory fish. Lionfish and Eels are fairly sedentary, and while they consume lots of food, they don't have fairly low metabolisms for their size. A trigger or tusk will be fine. These are big eaters with high metabolisms, but you have plenty of room. One more tang will work fine too IMO.

Thanks Len. I'm trying to cover up my mistakes with a second tank and do it right :D Thanks again and I liked your tank/thread.

One problem I've seen people have with lions is that they are slower than other fish and shouldn't be kept with anything too hyperactive. People usually have problems with feeding and making sure the fish gets enough without over polluting the tank.

I'm just curious what do you use to feed the eel? Wondering if you hand feed, stick feed or just let him scavenge?

I can hand feed my snowflake but he responds better from a feeding stick. From my observation it seems like he is scavenging when he does come out of the rocks.
