The power head on my tank failed yesterday. The power head fed the wet/dry filter that is built into the hood. No one I called today had a replacement in stock that would fit but I have one on order. In the meantime, I have an air stone running along with a MaxiJet in one corner. However, the water temp is climbing and I'm not sure how to bring it back down. I've opened the hood but beyond that I don't know what else I can do. The power head isn't going to arrive until sometime next week and it looks like it's going to be a warm weekend.

Suggestions would be most appreciated.

aim the powerhead you have left toward the surface of the water to get agitation...if you have a small fan keep it blowing over the waters surface...if you have an ac in your house lower the temp of the room the tank is in..it might be expensive running your ac throughout the day, but your save what you have in the tank...

Leave the lights off during the day when air temp is high, and only run them for a few hours at night. Your tank can make it a few days on short lighting periods. Also, if things get realy dire, freeze some water in a leakproof container (such as a clean plastic bottle with a screw cap) and float it in the tank to cool the water.
