Hi guys, im a newbie, i have a 30 gallon tank. i used some damels to help cycle my tank. took them back yesterday and got a beautiful coral fish. this morning it was dead! day before that i got a cleaner shrimp. this morning it molted. i wake up to a dead fish and a scary looking shrimp. now all i have is a weird looking shrimp. i heard to leave its shell in there for awhile and add iodine to the water? what should i do? any help would be great!

You can remove the molt, or leave it - either way is fine. As for suggestions on the fish, we'd need more information - for example you'd have to describe the system, current water parameters etc.

I agree, a separate thread would be best so as not to hijack the original poster's thread.

1. check your water parameters, and then post them here. we'll need to know ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate. ph, and alk. also specific gravity.
2. stop adding things to your tank until you have fully cycled it and let it mature some.
3. how old is your tank?
4. what is in your tank at this time- how much live rock, how much sand, what livestock have you introduced...
5. what kind of lighting and how many watts are you using?
6. what are you using for filtration?
do you have a camera to take pictures of these things on your glass?
