Hey all... here is my question.

I have my new light on top of the tank, and it has 6 Lunar White LED's... 3 sets of 2. The sets of 2 on the sides shine down, but the center 2 LED's are blocked by that stupid plastic divider that runs from front to rear of the tank. It is blocking all the lunar light from the center of the tank. Would it be ok to remove this somehow and if so what is the smartest way to do this? Just wondering... i know there are plenty of smart individuals out there who can help with this question.

Seems to me it'd be ok but structurally i wouldn't want the center of the glass to have too much load and crack.

A 90 is pretty tall to remove the center brace. Some people replace the brace with wire and clamps. You just have to look around.

Personally I would leave it alone. Moon lights are optional anyway and if you've got 4 of 6 shining into the tank I'd call it good.

i would STRONGLY advise AGAINST removing the center brace. I've done it before and replaced it with stainless cable.. but over a period of a year or two the tank still bowed and the black trim around the top started pulling off.

keep it there if at all possible.

had a 55 with the center brace that broke had to buy a new tank. the center brace holds the tank together. the brace is molded as one piece you cant go back. best thing to do is live with the light being blocked
