PVC Cement

For plumbing do you have to use any certain type of glue or just the regular old pvc cement. I know its used for potable water but didn't if it had some sort of contaminant thats intolerable for saltwater.

no regular old blue stuff is fine. Make sure you use primer (the purple stuff) as well, this will allow pvc to bond better and thus ensure leak-proof joint.

You don't have to use the purple primer. They make a clear primer too.

I normally just use the regular clear primer and glue with rigid PVC.

There's specific glue intended for the flexible PVC, although I have gotten away with regular PVC glue for that as well...
