I have a coral I bought a few months ago that I think is not doing that well and might even be dead. I had to go out of town and I came back to see that a clam and this coral just didn't look the same. My monitor/controller logs show nothing out of the ordinary during my absence in pH or Temp. I dose kalwasser with in my ATO and those levels seemed normal as well. Salinity was still at 1.023-1.022. I'm thinking this could be due to a lack of trace elements. I dose 2 capfulls of coral-vite once a week and add 10ml of strontium as well. Here is a pic of the coral. I can't remember what species it is....any advice would be greatly appreciated. Porites or Alveopora. What is your lighting situation? Trace elements are almost never the problem unless you have a really active growing reef. Good lighting, clean water, and water changes are all this coral should need.
