Hello guys.. been a while since I've been here...

I used to have a tank set up with a nice sump settup...

So I helped my cuz set up his.. came out great.. the only thing I can't remmember is the type of algae you put in the refugium.. can someone refresh my memory????....

also.. Can you set up a tank with live rock, a skimmer (HOB) and a few powerheads only????... Or do you need a filter...

Chaeto (sp?) in fuge.

I run a 29 gal with live rock, Remore HOB skimmer, powerheads and cheap HOB filter which I'll throw carbon into once in a while. Should be ok without it.

Yeah, the live rock + skimmer + powerheads will work fine for filtration.

There are lots of macros that will work well in a refugium, but as mentioned, Chaetomorpha is one of the more popular these days.
