My yellow tang is not eating seaweed from the clip in the tank. He is eating the frozen brine and flakes fine but not the seawood. Moreover, the seadweed seems to cause a deep ruby red algae outbreak on my sandbed. Any suggestions/hints?

are you sure it's the seaweed and not excessive feeding in general?
the ruby red algae sounds like red slime(cyanobacteria).

btw- try the red seaweed. they seem to like that better. also, if you can get some OGO plant from the lfs(red macroalgae) they love to eat that too.

i buy my nori from the chinese market. food grade, my tangs seem to like that alot better than the LFS stuff, and it's like 90% cheaper.

I get Nori from a local market too - as X said, much cheaper and my tangs and rabbitfish seem to love it.

I feed them lots of Spirulina flake too - you might want to try that as well...

It might be over flake feeding. But the seawood (the whole freakin strip) wasnt touched and just kinda desolved and I never had that problem before the seaweed so I am thinking it has to be the seaweed. I have the purple stuff now, I think I will trash it and just pick up Nori from the supermarket and see if that works. I just want optimal color and happiness for my tang..
