I've been running a 72g tank for about a year now using 3 fluval canister filters; a 404, 205 and a 104. I also been using an aquaclear 110 as a little refugium and a seaclone skimmer. I know that the fluvals are nitrate factories and that the seaclone skimmer isn't good at all because I constantly do water changes. I'm planning on putting a 20g tank under the main tank as a refugium and getting a better skimmer. I know it's gonna be hard trying to sell any of my fluvals so my question is, what can I do with the fluvals besides just throwing them out???

I would use the 404 with just carbon in it and keep the 104 for a quarantine tank filter. Keep the 205 as a spare in case one burns out. Or you can use one on a fish only tank as well.

I run carbon 24/7 in my fluval

Change the carbon every other week and rinse the sponges every week

PO4 have been non detectable in my tank for the past 1.5 years.
