Is curing rock as easy as I have heard. I was basically told to get the rock put it in a saltwater mix with a heater and a powerhead and let it sit. And the rock will just cure. Do you add anything else to it? So that is all a LFS does to cure the rock? Just let it soak????

ive cured 200 lbs right here in my crib. hook up your saltwater heater powerhead as you stated and get some dishwashing gloves and a good scrub brush. i ran a skimmer in mine. due your water changes and you'll be good to go. it does take a lil time.here are some pics of when i was doing some curing.

depending on how uncure the rocks are. sometimes u need to "weed out" decay stuff n pest(use gloves). u may wanna get a bigger tub so water wont foul as fast. make sure water circulation is good.
once cure the foul smell should be gone.

Just like Dee said run a skimmer and do bi-weekly water changes and when the ammonia is zero the rock is cured!!:chef:

It's so expensive because they have taken the time, the supplies and used the electricity to do it for you.
