made my sump today. getting the new tank drilled very soon, dont rely know where i want to drill yet, any suggestions. are scwd effective? would i have enough flow for lps and a few sps? or will i need another powerhead. the return would be an aquaclear 901 witch does 930 gph hooked up tot he scwd. also have a modded MJ 900 that works pretty well going in the tank..

You would have to raise that EuroReef.
Water level has to be at a maximum of 8" or it will not skim properly.
It can even (possibly) overflow out of the skimmer cup.

I would put another baffle in the return compartment, this will be another bubble trap which will help with micro bubbles. It's just one more raised piece of glass.

As Phil say you want to rise the PS otherwise you're not going to get any skim, as it's to hard to push the water up. You can either place a pail, with holes in it, like a strainer, or egg crates under the skimmer to rise it. If you can't rise it, because of height requirements under the tank, you're going to want to add a gate value to the PS, this will let you adjust the water high so you can skim.

should i skip the scdw and just drill two holes for drain and return. and i was thinking of adding an internal overflow, how important is that?

Skip the SCWD. I put 4 on my system and not one lasted over 5 months. Keep 2 holes for the return. Just use a tee rather than SCWDs.
You do not have enough flow for SPS. I think you are lacking flow in general.
As the others mentioned, that skimmer needs to be raised. Actually, cut out those baffles, and make room for the skimmer on the other side of the 3 baffles. Replace the ball valve with a gate valve. More expensive up front, but you will thank me for this advice later.
Last, next time you put baffles in... try opening your eyes. Just busting your chops. Don't take me too seriously. But seriously, change the skimmer location and height. Even better, lower the height of the baffles, this will give you more margin for error should your power go out.
RIF... my bad Chief. That section on the right is FAR too small for a DSB/macro area to be of any use or even the slightest impact on your tank. Don't choke out your skimmer for that. Put the skimmer on the right and put a PO4 reactor in there. If you want pods, put some LR in the last chamber with the return pump.
