Low about 7.9...I slammed a 22lb piece of aragocrete that had been soaking in my top off RO water(the usual)...But when I got back from vacae I forgot to check my PH and my sister who was watching my tank had not added any top off.. It went down about 6in.. 125gal sump/refugium,Total water volume is 280...So I just brought the salinity back down to 34 from 38...All looks well but my ph that I just started working on today...Mind you I got back last saturday...

Still the same this morning 7.9 and for the first time my aragocrete is not budging the PH..I guess because the majority is rubble rock...Dopped about 2 more tablespoons of baking soda this morning though...Will update this afternoon when I return from work around 2...

no I have always used it as PH buffer...Sodium Bicarbonate same stuff...But don't let the manufacterer's of PH buffer know I told you that.. And through some magical chemical reaction baking it on a baking sheet and mixing with RO water turns it into alkalinity part of A and B...:shhh:

1.034 salinity? High for acro's is 1.027/28.

7.9 is still ok. As long as it doesn;t drop below 7.8 or so i wouldn't be bothering with adding things in. Controll it using your two part. Your PH should be buffered by whatever your using to buffer the calcium/alk as well as coral skeletons/rock/bacteria/macro. Also what PH test kit are you using?

Drop in water levels will not leach your PH levels. Something else is dropping it. correct that and it will go back to normal.
